Dr Ben Offiler is a Teaching Fellow in American Studies at the University of Hull. Ben’s research focuses on the U.S foreign policy during the Cold War, particularly America’s relations with the Middle East and Iran.
Ben is currently working on a project examining the education and disease-control programmes of the philanthropic Near East Foundation (NEF) in Iran, and the impact that NGOs have had on politicising debates surrounding disease control and education.
Ben has previously taught courses on American history and foreign relations at Sheffield University and the University of Nottingham. He is currently an Eccles Visiting Fellow in North American Studies, the Early Career Representative for the British Association for American Studies and Co-Editor of U.S Studies Online.
